Modern biology runs on software as much as reagents. These are tools built in-house — to design constructs, run a vivarium, automate analysis, and communicate results — sharpened against the daily friction of real research.

Built where the science needed them

Each of these began as a bottleneck — at the bench or at the keyboard. Rather than work around the friction, the instrument got built, and kept only if it earned its place in daily use.
